Losing mobile signal at home

Hi, continually having problems at home with my mobile signal. I keep losing it completely & when i do get a signal it is not very strong. I get a good signal most other area's.

I've restarted phone, switched aeroplane mode on/off. Taken sim card in/out. Checked coverage in my area CO43XG & ok. I am now missing calls & sometimes friend's/family can't connect at all, or even able to leave a voicemail message. Regards Doug

Re: Losing mobile signal at home

I've checked the OFCOM coverage checker for indoors and no 4G. The reason for that is Virgin do not have access to calls over 4G which run on 800MHz, a better frequency for indoor coverage. All your calls go 3G or 2G so thats the important coverage

Re: Losing mobile signal at home

Thanks for the quick reply. I knew a problem had been sorted out by EE.

So if there is no 4G coverage at mine, do i just change my phone to 2G or 3G & that will sort the issue out?

Re: Losing mobile signal at home

The OFCOM checker is showing questionable coverage on 3G / 2G It may improve things, it may not as the phone does not have to drop down from 4G anything is worth a try in these situations.

Long term you need either WiFi calling are moving to a network based on Vodafone or O2. Voxi or GiffGaff may suit your needs.

Re: Losing mobile signal at home

We don't know what 4G coverage that is. Could be 800Mhz to which you have no access, or one of the other frequencies available

I left 4G out simply because you have call problems and on Virgin you can't make calls using 4G.

Re: Losing mobile signal at home

Hi Gareth, sorry to say it's not sorted. I don't have wi-fi calling on my phone. So it looks like I will have to change provider. Regards

Hi 5oysterman2

Do you mean the actual handset doesn't support Wifi Calling

What phone do you have
