Keeping existing number

I entered my PAC code into my sim only contract application on line & have had notification that this was approved & the sim is on its way.  However there has been no more mention of keeping my old number. How do I know if this part of the process has been actioned or missed please?

When a number port is completed it would remove from your soon to be former sim card/providers service, to your new service.

Is the old phone number still available to you on the soon to be former providers sim card/service?

Usually when a port is requested, on mobile services, it goes through the following day - provided both sim cards are active and the PAC code's expiry date has not passed.
