Invalid SIM message PUK needed

I know a number of people have posted regarding this issue.

I have a new Vodafone SIM.

When I put it in the phone the screen prompted me to enter a PIN.

I entered the PIN provided by Virgin with the SIM

After a number of attempts I now have the following message 

"SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK."

I have tried entering a PUK from Vodafone with no luck.

Virgin call centre provided me with 2 different PUK numbers to try?????

I now have no mobile coverage and dont know how to resolve this. I need my phone for work and so am beginning to get a little stressed. Not the best introduction to Virgin Mobile. Can anyone help?

I'm a bit confused as you mention Vodafone SIM, guess you mean Virgin.

Hard to diagnose at a distance but was the phone from Virgin. Thinking maybe that it is network locked

Hi. Sorry. Yes you are right. It is a new Virgin SIM. Moving with number from Vodafone

I'm quite stressed. I couldn't find chat facility on the Virgin website. I tried to install the Virgin Connect App but it wouldn't install. 

I've spent around 2.5 hours today trying to find someone I can talk to and help me with this situation.

Thank you for coming back to me so quickly.

I don't know what to do.  I've had the same number for over 20 years and never experienced this when changing networks.

Sorry - forgot to clarify that the phone was from Vodafone.

Vodafone handsets come network locked and require an unlock code to work on other networks 

You can request an unlock code from Vodafone

Hi.

I got a NUC from Vodafone and tried inputting it but the message I get on screen is

"SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK"

It is asking for PUK.

The PUK I got from Vodafone doesnt work and the two I got from the Virgin call centre abroad somewhere (India or Phillipines) dont work either.

I a bit stumped and unable to work.

And Very disappointed with Virgin so far.

But very thankful for your help and attention

I'm enamoured with Virgin Mobile and I must say I'm not sure what numbers their CS were giving as they simply would not have unlock codes for a Vodafone handset. That said the problem appears to be Vodafone not Virgin. 

Have you Googled how to unlock your make and model of phone. Sometimes there is a specific procedure to follow when unlocking certain phones?

I am so sorry you are having issues with our mobile with getting your PUK, I can take a look at this for you and will drop you a private message, keep an eye out for the purple envelope and we can go from there

Thanks again for your input.

I looked at unlocking procedure and the NUC request should come on as soon as I put the new code in. However all I get is the request for PUK

I have been back in touch with Vodafone as I tried the SIM in my wife's handset and it worked fine.

Vodafone are looking in to it and going to issue me with a new unlock code. But this may take up to 72 hours. 

I have had to buy a **bleep**ty Alcatel handset to tide me over until it is resolved.
