Husbands Account

Hello My husband had a sim with Virgin before the lockdown. He then needed to cancel it because of the new sim not arriving and our old phones not being compatible. However the account though closed is still charging him and running up a bill each month. We have been told they will take legal action soon. Can I pay the £18.00 that is owed and get it over with please.
