Early upgrade offer

Hi all,

Last August 2021 I moved from o2 to virgin mobile (ironic that literally a few weeks later it was announced that o2 and virgin had merged haha)

Part of my contract means i can have an early upgrade after 12 months by recycling my phone i believe. Back in the day when i had this same offer with o2 i used to be able to pass my phone over the counter there and then and i'd get new a phone. When the pandemic came and you had to send the phone away and wait before you could recycle and get a new phone so you'd be a week without a phone...

Whats the process with virgin mobile? I think i'm on an early bird contract? its 24 months but the offer is after 12 months which has passed. 

How would i go about using this early bird offer? If it involves sending my phone away and being without it i'll just wait for next year...i'm a sad man who cant live without his phone haha

I have taken a look at things from our side and think you would be eligible for the Trade up 🙂

 

We can't do that here unfortunately, please call our mobile support team and they can talk you through this and order the new phone.

 

You can call 789 from a Virgin Mobile or 0345 600 0789 from any line.

If you’re on a Freestyle Contract you can upgrade early with Freestyle Trade Up. All you need to do is sign up to a new 24 month contract and use the value left in your old phone to cover your existing one. If it doesn’t quite cover the remaining costs, you can opt to pay the difference.

i dont think i am? All my contract says is "Early bird exclusive Ultd data+mins"

i was told i could upgrade after 12 months i'm just not sure how to or whether its worthwhile for me with the potential loss of a phone temporarily!
