Change Direct Debit date for Virgin Mobile

I transferred my mobile number from Vodafone to Virgin Mobile in July. The porting process took far longer than expected and this resulted in the Direct Debit date being much later in the month than it had previously been. 

There doesn't seem to be any easy way to alter the Direct Debit date online or in the app. although numerous searches suggest that this should be possible.

How can I get the DD date changed to be earlier in the month?

Really sorry that the porting process took longer than expected and has caused some issues with your Direct Debit date.
