I have a contract phone and it came with a sim and rolling contract for the data and calls etc. I no longer use the phone at all so want to switch to pay as you go or just cancel the sim plan. I tried to request a STAC but this said I'd have to pay £154 which is the price of the phone contract I have left?
I've tried phoning 789 and there's NO options to speak to anyone available it just insists they send me a link via txt. Online account only has options to switch to a more pricier plan.
Online live chat (real person) insisted I call 789 as they can't cancel or swap online. That just sends a link to the generic help pages. I've tried texting the help number 07533016422 but they only reply every morning asking me to reply "yes" to carry on chatting. Useless. I have a STAC code but can only use that to switch networks which I can't do as don't have another provider.
I spoke to another person on 789 and they insist I can't cancel my 30 day rolling contract as it's linked to a freestyle handset loan. When I request a STAC code online it says I will be charged £154. If anyone can help me that would be great. Thank you.
