Can't get new Virgin Mobile sim to work in new Motorola G7 Play

Phone has been unlocked and can connect to internet but just shows "sim card does not allow connection to network".  Can't make calls or send texts to get support. Any ideas please?

Have you been able to get this resolved yet 

If not have you tried a hard reset on the phone and a manual network search?

Seems that Virgin still had my old sim card connected and the new sim card would not work till the old one (which had been lost) was disconnected by Virgin, once we could reach them using another phone in the hours they were taking calls. All working now, thanks for your support.
