My Mum received the below text regarding her bill. The bill is paid via direct debits through my account (her daughter) so not sure if this is a scam message? Any advice appreciated.
Can't see the picture yet untill it has been approved - but there are many scam text's at present being sent out about Virgin payments.
Usually Virgin would not even get in touch about missed payments ect., they would just cut your services and wait for you to contact them about it.
I thought so, but was unsure. the mobile number it has come from is 07930 475 509.
The text reads: We were unable to process your latest bill. To avoid any fees or account suspension, please update your billing information via: http://bit.ly/Virgin-Media-Bill. Virgin Media
The bill date is usually 1st of the month so was wondering if this was intact genuine and they tried to take payment early due to Bank Holiday.
Having "bit.ly" in the address looks very dodgy to me.
Looks nothing like normal mobile login page.
Says Virgin Media login, not Virgin Mobile login.
Just these three things would stop me trying to sign in on that link 🤔
