Apple iPhone Blacklisted

Hi There,

I recently bought a brand new sealed iPhone 12 from a girl on Facebook Marketplace.

It stopped worrking after abot a week.

I took it to Apple store in Glasgow and they told me is was blacklisted by Virgin. The girl disputes this saying the phone did not come from Virgin.

I need confirmation as the waythings stand, I am handling what would appear to be a stolen handset and out of pocket for th monwy I paid for it.

My question is, what do youn need from me to confirm that it is indeed from Virgin and that being the case, what do we do about this, go to the police?
