Another roaming issue!

Lots of helpful posts unlike customer service as I have spent almost 2 hours on the phone with zero success!

iphone 13 roamed fine in France in march

wont roam in Morocco but does show tgat it’s connected to Morocco telecom

phone set to roaming

spend is uncapped

updated profile via text from virgin

checked sim applications is set to roaming and auto

tried both manual Ana auto network connection

anything else I can try as customer service is hopeless!!

Re: Another roaming issue!

Hi 999Rossman,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.

Apologies for the issue you're being faced with - just as a start point, and I would only be honest as much as I can try and help we can't always 100% guarantee a connection whilst you're abroad. When you're connected the network which you mention, are you able to do anything at all? Or does it not work altogether?

Cheers,

Ryan.

Re: Another roaming issue!

Switching off WiFi I appear to be able to use call and can certainly connect to U.K. numbers.

Data there is nothing - no emails, internet or sat nav.

The signal is strong in Morocco with 4G coverage by far the norm so it’s not the quality of the signal.

The cop out of not being able to guarantee connection is not acceptable and the service offered by your offshore customer service team was nothing short of awful

Re: Another roaming issue!

I'm not sure where it is a cop out and I apologise you feel that way, I was just mentioning the fact of it not that it's definitely the case here.

Can you confirm which handset you have please?

Cheers,

Ryan.

Re: Another roaming issue!

That's great - thank you.

We have some really useful information/tips to try from our community member @enlli - can you try the following please:

For iOS:
Select Settings from the Home Screen
Select Phone Icon
Select SIM Applications
Select Roaming
Select Select mode
Select Manual
Select International and you are done, go back Home screen to retry

To change back when returning to the UK:
It is critical that you set the SIM roaming applet back to Automatic mode once in the Uf Settings > Mobile Data > Sim applications
Select SIM Applications
Select Roaming
Select Select mode
Select National - you are done, go back to Home screen

Cheers,

Ryan.
