Since joining Virgin Media I have been having problems with my 4g on my IPhone when I leave the house. Has anyone else had this problem? I am on 02 network

By 4G do you mean data? O2 use different settings for iPhones. May be that

yes I mean my 4g data. I’ve followed your link, however my settings are already set to the O2 ones.

You will need to contact O2 either by phone, twitter or Facebook.
Not something that can be checked from Virgin's end
