4g in 2g phone

Thankfully have sorted security word issue. Elderly mother needs big button, hearing aid compatible mobile phone. The only phones available for her are ones which work on 2G and is not 3G enabled and will not work with the 3 network in the UK. Strange in this day and age that this type of phone is not 4G (I can't find one and have been on the net for hours). Will the new Virgin sim that is coming, as the old one is being discontinued by Virgin, work in this type of phone. Not too worried about internet but calls and txts are a must.???

Re: 4g in 2g phone

Virgin still run 2G so you should be OK

There are no plans to phase 2G out at the moment  It's 3G to go first.

Re: 4g in 2g phone

Hi Joyfull,

Glad you've got things sorted.

As advised you can use 2G, 3G and 4G with us, however you can appreciate that the service might vary depending on which one you pick.

Everything else should also work fine in that phone, if you do have any issues please let us know so we can assist 🙂
