4G signal very poor at home lately

Hello,

For the past few weeks my signal (4G) has only been on one bar on my iPhone and it is very, very slow. However, when I leave the house and drive down the road a few minutes it shoots up to 4 bars with strong signal and faster speed.

My daughter’s iPhone is on Vodaphone and she always has a strong signal in the house.

Any ideas? It wasn’t as bad as this before! It’s the same in every room too!

Sounds like a network fault. As your daughter is on Vodafone I expect your Virgin SIM is running on EE

If you go here, put in your postcode and press the bottom of the two buttons (Check Network)it should state if there is  known fault.

Re: 4G signal very poor at home lately

Hi,

Thanks. I’ve tried that but it says there aren’t any faults. I tried the tips that were suggested (switching airplane mode on and off and restarting the phone) and it has gone up to 2 bars but not 4.

Anything else I could try?

Re: 4G signal very poor at home lately

Bit of a sticky one to diagnose from a distance. The fact that it works down the road seems to indicate something has altered in your locality. Sometimes, moving a mast or a tree growing and blocking signal can do it, but this is pure conjecture. The Vodafone signal will come from a different mast, so that is of no help here.

Do you have WiFi as you could use WiFi Calling at home?

We are with Sky (but that seems to be rubbish too)!

Remember there's only 4 network operators in the UK - VF, O2, EE & 3. There is much sharing of radio-sites going on, but multiple arrangements which can get hideously complicated at times.

Everyone else is a virtual operator who rents airtime from one of the  big-4. Sky use O2.

It’s really bad today. One bar of signal and taking ages to load a page.
I have tried my spare iPhone (also has a Virgin SIM) and that’s the same 😢

Definitely sounds like reception problems if it is two different phones and SIM cards.

As Virgin don't supply the signal, apart from notifying EE there is nothing else available.

I will try getting in touch with EE and see if they can do anything.

Thanks 😊

Re: 4G signal very poor at home lately

I'm not sure if EE will accept anything as you are not directly one of their customers. Can try
