can you buy a sim-free mobile phone from Virgin? [on their website or in a Virgin shop]I thought Virgin mobiles used the Vodafone network, but the "bolt" advert mentions O2...so do Virgin mobiles use both now?

Virgin Mobile uses Vodafone's infrastructure, not O2's, and at a customer contact level the O2 and Virgin Mobile businesses are completely separate. Eventually all VMobile customers will be moved to O2 but that's years away.

Vigin no longer sell SIM Free phones, they have to tie in with an airtime contract
There are no Virgin shops, they have all been closed.
