the picture and sound stop, screen goes black both in live and recorded shows. this has now been happening for several days. have rebooted the Tivo box and checked all cabling.
have tried the Virgin on line chat, but that will not start!
is there a way to fix the tivo box or do i need to ring Virgin and wait?

If "checked all cabling" includes a swap of HDMI lead and TV port, then it's likely your TiVo has a fault.
It should be replaced with a V6 which runs the same software but relies on VM home broadband for its internet connection.
