Re: no tv, dvr has detected a serious problem

The green screen "DVR has detected a problem" means your hard drive has failed and you do, indeed, need a new box. C/S should replace that.

Which box was it - was it a TiVo or a V6? If you're not sure, check here

Re: no tv, dvr has detected a serious problem

If you're able to call back, then there's no reason this fault shouldn't be an "instant" box replacement using self-install QuickStart.

If you encounter any issues, or this is a problem, please post back.

How do you contact Virgin

I telephoned and spoke to a young lady, she kept on going away to check, eventually told me that she would need to refer to her manager, after a couple of minutes, there was click, click and I was disconnected. I immediately telephoned back and was placed in a long queue. I gave up after 30 minutes and found that I had a missed call from Virgin on my other phone. I tried all day without any success. I tried again at 8 this morning, was placed in a queue after a couple of minutes, I was a disconnected.

@roydell

Rather than start a new thread, I've merged your new post into this existing thread.

You should have had your box replaced first time round, and it's not your fault that it wasn't. So I've escalated this post to VM forum staff to respond.

Re: no tv, dvr has detected a serious problem

Hey @roydell and welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear of the issues that you're having with your TV service.

I'm looking into this for you and can see that you do need a replacement for your Tivo box.

Would you like this to be replaced with the same model or a V6 box at no extra cost?

Regards

Steven_L
