Can you unscrew the cables that come in to the room where your vm box are connected

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but...

Your VM TV box needs the incoming co-ax cable connection as this is what carries your live TV channels. If you disconnect your co-ax you won't have any TV service. Equally disconnecting the feed to your homehub will stop your broadband from working.
