My tivo remote has died, but i do have a v6 remote spare. However it wont do anything for the tivo box at all, I saw a post earlier about pairing by pressing info on the v6 remote, and then a pairing button on the tivo box, but, have no idea which one the pairing button is on the tivo box! Can anyone please help, as, its 5-7 days till the newly ordered tivo remote comes, and owing to mobility issues i cant keep geting up and down to use the controls on the box!

You can only use TV Control as a remote app on an older TiVo box if it's connected to the home network, which not all are.
For a V6 remote to work on an older TiVo box it needs to be reset so it goes back into IR mode - you can do that by following this - https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-reset-tv-remote
You would then need to follow the on box help to configure the remote for TV volume and power.

Hi @ajf33
You can download the TV Control app for now and use that as a temporary remote. It's available on iphone and android phones.
The following help pages show you which buttons to press on the remote and the box.

There's also a You Tube video which will hopefully work and be easier to do as it doesn't entail having to crouch down and use the buttons on the set top box.

@BenMcr
Thank you, that reset worked perfectly. I did download the app, but, as you mentioned it requires my box to be connected to my hub, which it isn't, but at least now my spare v6 remote is working on my tivo!
