Whenever l am pausing live TV and then return to play it no longer plays properly, it is all scrambled and broken. Is this a fault with my box?

Sounds like a hard drive fault affecting recordings - this can't be repaired and needs a box replacement.
You can either call in to report this, or wait around for VM staff to respond.
