Tivo box not working

How do I contact anyone at virgin to say my tivo box isnt working?

I have phoned the help number - but all that happens is that it goes to an automated system to restart my tivo box.

I have already done this anyway and it hasnt resolved the issue - once the box was remotely restarted by virgin the issue obviously wasnt fixed, but I cant report this to virgin.

If I phone the helpdesk all that happens is that they want to restart my box again

The automated service can be a blessing & a curse.

Once you've followed the options for "I have a fault with my TV service", the IVR will make numerous attempts to discourage you from queuing, and to "go online" or "get a link" - ignore those and don't press anything.

If the automated service insists on running diagnostics, you may need to go along with it - but if you call back immediately and use any option for "I still want to talk to an agent", you should be able to so.
