Tivo Box not connected to internet

Hi.

Tivo Box not connected to internet?

All connections are sound and checked - twice.

Carried re-boot - No change

Used VM diagnostic through TV and continues to state "Network Connection Unsuccessful" (Network Cable Unplugged) 

It isn't!!

I can watch TV and have WiFi I just can't record or use catch-up. I have not touched, prodded or otherwise interfered with anything.

Any suggestions welcomed.

I have same problem, appears to have occurred since outage yesterday.

If it’s a standard TiVO then there is an issue with the internal internet modem. Is the EPG empty (all channels showing “to be announced”)? This would be a sure sign that the internet connection is not working, & would cause trouble with recordings.

Most of the older TiVOs still use the legacy DOCSIS 1 system, so this will not affect your normal Broadband (which operates on DOCSIS 3). Check the service status & if nothing shows for your area then suspect a faulty box.

I have no idea what an EPG is but doing a Network Status check through my Tivo it says:

Mode- Infrastructure

Link Status - Connected

SSID - Gives correct name

Sinal strength - 35%

Connection speed - 364%

Service status - 'connecting...'

Auto-config TCP/IP:

IP address - need DHCP

Gateway address - nothing showing

Subnet mask - nothing showing

DNS addr - none, none, none

 

In Network Diagnostics:

Port Configuration Test - Failed

DNS Resolution Test- Failed

Oh....and No Issues shown on service check for any of the services
