TiVo remote pairing

I have the old style TIVo box and have just received a new replacement remote that doesn’t work with my box. The new remote is exactly the same as the old remote to look at and in size. How do I pair the new remote to the box. Instructions on VM set up do not correspond to the old style TIVo box. Thanks for any help

Sorry no luck with pairing it at all. Had to change from a TiVo to a V6 box.

I have an old Cisco box and I received a new remote today too. Luckily I have managed to get mine to work.

The instructions on the link they send you about pairing the remote to the box are totally irrelevant for the new Cisco box.

All I needed to do to get it working was to follow the instructions for How to reset the Virgin TV remote and this did the trick, it started working straight away!

I hope this helps someone out anyway.
