TiVo box stuck on software update stage 1

I received a replacement TiVo box for one that would not turn on, but I am having trouble with it. It is stuck at 'stage 1 of 3' of the software update. Restarting the box (with the on/off switch or the mains power) just returns it to the same updating loop. Any advice?

Hi it needs to be activated the number is 0800 9539500. Regards Micky

Hi,

Try this, power off. Hold left, right and ok on front of box. Power back on and hold until vigin screen appears. 

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Micky! The startup guide says the new boxes activate automatically when connected to the Virgin wall socket, but I will try the call centre. -Seth
