TiVo box not booting up

Hi

Anyone able to suggest possible causes of TiVo box not booting.

Symptoms ar:

1) Multi language Welcome screen displayed

2) after 5-10 seconds box gives out a mechanical noise (sounds very much like a hard disk seeking).

3) Box then reboots after about 20 secs

Prior to this problem box was behaving (although some recording deletes did take a long time) ok but after a power cycle it's resorted to the 'Not booting' problem.

Idears?

This alone sounds like your hard drive may have failed. You need to call VM to report this, and arrange the replacement. 150 from a VM phone, or 0345 4541111 from any other phone, and follow the options for "I have a fault with my TV service"
