TV pixellating

Hi - recordings from my Virgin box are pixelated.   Watching Netflix or using console is fine - so it’s not the tv.   Watching ‘live’/non-recorded tv through virgin is also fine - but watching back anything off record is pixelated. Is this a fault with the box?
