TV flashes, blanks then odd colours

 we have this fault every couple of weeks. Part of the picture. Usually the bottom flashes. It gets more frequent. Then the screen blanks for a second. After this we get Psychedelic colours on the screen. The only way to resolve it is turning the TiVo box off and back on. The fault returns after a few weeks. It's not connections or the TV. It's just with the box. Has anyone else had or have this?

Is this happening regardless of video source - i.e. live TV? OnDemand? Recorded programmes? Streaming?

If so - clearly a fault with the video output so have you tried an alternative HDMI lead and also different HDMI port on your TV in the first instance?

Thanks for replying. No, purely the Tivo box. Live TV & other sources are fine. When the box is turned off & back on, the fault is reset & the picture is fine for a few weeks. If it was the HDMI cable it would still be faulty.

Hi @Brillo thanks for your post here in the Community although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised here.

We've checked thing over here and there are no signalling issues on the line or area issues that would contribute to poor picture, so it doesn't seem that there's anything that's causing this at the moment.

How have things been recently please, have things stabilised since you last rebooted?

It's fine once I turn the Tivo box off then back on. This seems to clear the problem. After a few weeks it reappears & have to reset the box again. It's annoying when we watch TV, flashing flickering then blanking.  I will be back here once the problem comes back again.

No problem - if you can come back here once the problem re-occurs, hopefully we can run our diagnostics at the time the picture is faulty for you and be able to advise further.

The TV picture started flashing at the bottom again. This time I was watching a recorded programme recorded on the Tivo box. Turned the box off and on again. This cured the fault again. It's the box, its faulty!!!

Thanks for coming back to us @Brillo, have you noticed any further faults since your post?

Does this happen on Live TV as well as on the recorded programme currently?

Can you also confirm what percentage of disc space is left on the set top box, and if there's anything in the recently deleted folder?
