TIVO not coming off standby - green flashing lights

The other day the three green lights on the front of my TIVO box started flashing constantly. at the same time when the box has been in standby for a significant period it will not come out of standby unless I turn the box off at the wall and then back on again.  Once it has started up it seems to work as normal, I can even put it into standby and turn it back on again.

Re: TIVO not coming off standby - green flashing lights

Are those 3 green lights the recording ones on right-hand side? If they're flashing, that's either recordings going on/off or the box rebooting.

What happens when you try to take the TiVo out of standby? And what're your power saving settings set to - it shouldn't make any difference but is worth a check? Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Power saving

It's the three LEDs on the left (ie the standby light and the two to the right of it). When in standby, the standby light is both red and flashing green at the same time.

Re: TIVO not coming off standby - green flashing lights

So in order from L-R, those 3 lights are...

1: Power/standby - red in standby, green when on

2: Online/heartbeat - should be static green for the onboard modem functioning. Flashing green means the 'net connection has failed.

3: Remote control input - flashes when you press an input on the remote.

Flashing middle and right buttons could therefore be "easy" to explain, but a flashing power/standby light is odd in normal use.

They are flashing in unison, so looks like an error state to me.

Hello @PhilHuish,

Welcome to the community page, thank you for posting on here.

I am sorry to see you have been having issues with your TV box.

I have managed to locate your account using your forums details, however I have noticed that you have been in contact with us since this post and your box is showing as a healthy 'Green' on our system which means no faults, can you confirm if you no longer need help?

Look forward to your response.

Re: TIVO not coming off standby - green flashing lights

The lights are still flashing on the front of the box in the same way (in a manner that looks like an error) and the standby button on the box doesn't work but otherwise the box seems to work and I can get it out of standby by using the remote control.

Where abouts does it actually tell me when it is?
