Sound problem

I have a new tv with Sonos sound bar with my virgin TiVo box

occasionally when changing channels I lose sound and have to flick back and forth between the channels Neil sound is resumed which is very frustrating

i have tried changing the audio setting from Dolby digital to PCM but this actually gives me no sound at all

can anyone help please

Hello,

Is your soundbar connected with HDMI cable or with an optical cable into the back of the box?

If its connected via optical cable into TiVo box, make sure the TiVo is connected into the HDMI slot which is labeled as Arc (usually HDMI2). If the soundbar is connected via HDMI and not optical cable, make sure that is connected to the HDMI labeled Arc.

Sound bar is connected to tv by hdmi and then tv is obviously connected to Tivo box

 

should I change this?

Does your soundbar have more than 1 HDMI input available, say to connect the TiVo to the soundbar via HDMI?

If not then ensure your soundbar is connected into HDMI port on your TV labeled Arc (usually HDMI2), then TiVo box would connect via HDMI1, with PCM enabled this should work.
