I have 2 Tivo boxes sitting in a corner as I have not been asked to return them after downgrading my contract.
Is it safe for me to take them to the recycling centre?
I had expected to be contacted about returning them but nothing - and it's been 2 months.

Ordinarily TiVo's aren't wanted back, so unless you've been given specific instructions to the contrary, I would suggest you responsibly recycle it.

Thanks for the reply - I haven't been sent any packaging, but was quoted some charges when I downgraded - i.e. if I don't return the equipment there will be a charge of £xxx (can't remember the amount.
I'll need to try to get a definitive answer from VM - don't want to be charged!

Look at https://www.virginmedia.com/legal/price-guides and scroll down to "non-returned equipment".
You'll see there's no charge for TiVo boxes - as per the previous link.

Just for further confirmation, double check the pictures of the set top boxes on the following page to confirm you have a TIVO and not a V6.
Some people call V6 boxes TIVO's because that's the operating system they run on. If you have V6 boxes they do need returning.
