Re: Ongoing TV problem7 months and no help from Virgin Media

Hi,

We're having the same problem too. The pixillation seems to get worse the longer the box is on. So possibly heat related.

If turned off for half an hour it works for a little bit but then starts to pixelate. It seems to be worse on certain channels. Being an ex electronics engineer it sounds like a capacitor issue, but that's getting too technical.

I've done all the usual. Re-tightened all the cables. I've even replaced the cable from the box to the wall. Tried different HDMI cables, different HDMI slots on the tv, even used a start plug and it still pixelates so looks like the box. The TV is fine if we watch other sources plugged into it.

Any chance of a new tivo box.

Pixellation issues

Pixellated pictures on live TV are often the sign of a signal fault. If you've rebooted your box once, then there's likely a fault somewhere, so call VM and report it. You're likely to need either an engineer visit or a replacement box, depending on what VM's remote diagnostics turn up. They can do these while you're on the phone to them.

First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and you'll need to call them.

150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service"
