Programs to be announced.

For the past week or so, my bedroom tivo box program listing has said to be announced. Only on certain channels, its driving me daft. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Re: Programs to be announced.

Hi Jennie909,

Some channels are a little slow in updating on the EPG, however have you tried forcing  a connection as it's all done via the internet.?

Going by the forum you posted in, it looks like you have a Tivo Box, so please try the following:-

Go to  Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network connection. When was the last successful connection?

If you follow "connect to Virgin Media service" and wait perhaps 30minutes before rechecking it should befully connected and the EPG displaying upto date info.

Re: Programs to be announced.

In addition to newapollo's advice, are there any particular channels affected?

Within the network connections screen, I'd be looking for the date/time of the last successful connection (it should be approximately every 6hours), and if there isn't one, what's the reason for failure.

Re: Programs to be announced.

@Jenni909

No problem - the advice on checking for the last connection or reason for failure, stands. Do you have any indicator lights on the front panel of your V6 that would indicate a loss of internet connectivity?

What differs with the V6 is that it relies on a connection to your homehub for everything internet - are you using Ethernet (recommended) or WiFi? Are you able to access any CatchUp or VOD services, as these would also use the internet.

Re: Programs to be announced.

Hi again Jenni909,

On a V6 it's

Help & Settings > Settings > Network > Connect to Virgin Media Service now

You can view the network status from there and view network diagnostics.

Re: Programs to be announced.

Everything is connect to the internet, no red lights on to show loss of connections.

Re: Programs to be announced.

Ok, so if you follow Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network...

1: Does the box show connected? (top-right)

2: When was the last succesful connection (top-left)

3: If the last attempted connection failed, what was the reason? (top-left)

Let's get this covered first, and then look at the channels after.
