I left a skylight open during one of the recent rainstorms and my TiVo remote control got wet. I took out the batteries and dried it out carefully and it works, but the arrow keys around the 'OK' button work only for horizontal shifts, not vertical. I applied for a new remote and it has arrived and it is fine, except that the Volume control has no effect. Neither does the 'Mute' button. I tried following the online instructions but under the heading 'How to pair TV V6 & VirginTiVo box remote to the box' the instructions refer to a 'minus button' and a 'white power light' which do not exist on my TiVo box: perhaps they refer to a V6 box. I then tried to follow the on screen pairing instructions via Home and Devices, but selecting 'Devices' does not offer an option of Remote Control Pairing. 'Devices leads to three options: Power Saving, Name this TiVo Box and Network Remote Control, of which the third option seems not to be relevant to the TiVo Remote Control I am currently using the old remote to control the sound and the new one to control everything else. How can I fix the problem with the new remote? Our system, with the TiVo box has worked perfectly for years: this is the first problem.

Thank you ,Dave,
I have not tried your suggestion, but my son discovered a procedure that worked, so I am posting this to save anyone else from spending
time on replying. My son's procedure is this . Go to Home, then select Help and press ( on our TV the display became very dark at that point.
Select 'TiVo Box' and then 'Program your Remote', then 'Yes, Set up my Virgin TV remote now' . Finally you get a screen with instructions, including
typing in a code.
