Need to hard reboot to stop pixelation

I have a TiVo box that seems to need rebooting due to pixelation issues. Channel 4 is the worst but it ends up on most channels. A simple hard reboot, if even a simple switch off of the power doesn't solve it. I have to unplug it, switch the power button on and off a couple of times with no power connected then plug the lot back in. It then usually comes around. Hard to believe it's signal as the extensive reboot procedure fixes it. Is this typical of the box beginning to fail? I need to do this almost daily and it makes it impossible to record something when out as I'm not there to spot the need to reboot.

Pixellated pictures on live TV are often the sign of a signal fault. If you've rebooted your box once, then there's likely a fault somewhere, so this will need VM to intervene. You're likely to need either an engineer visit or a replacement box, depending on what VM's remote diagnostics turn up.

First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and ideally you'll need to call them.

150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service". Alternatively you can wait on here for staff to respond, which may take a day or so.

Hey @Eede,

Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post her on our forums.

I have been able to locate your account and can see that you have been able to book a technician visit to resolve this issue.

Please let us know how the visit goes.

Needed a new box, the old one was a very old box. New v6 one seems good as gold so far.

Pleased to hear that things have been fine so far after having your TV box upgraded.

If you have any further issues or need anything else please don't hesitate to get back in touch.

Kind regards
