Moving Tivo box between rooms

I'm wanting to move this box upstairs to one of the bedrooms. The room has a wall box is it just a matter of transferring it straight up? Do i need to move my router upstairs to or can it be powered through wifi?

Thanks

Re: Moving Tivo box between rooms

Hello

As long as the coaxial connection is active upstairs then yes you can just move it.

Depends on which box you have is it a V6 or a Tivo, if it is a V6 it will connect to wireless for any internet provided services like youtube, netflix etc. If it is a Tivo then it has an inbuilt modem so doesnt need an internet connection.

Re: Moving Tivo box between rooms

Is there any way to know if its active besides just plugging in and hoping? If its inactive is it just a matter of contacting Virgin to reactive and is there any additiinal charge

Thanks for the help

Re: Moving Tivo box between rooms

Hello

The only way is to connect the box, the cable is a physical connection and if not active only an engineer can do it and there may be a non fault charge of £99 to do the work.
