VM use specialised triple screened cable. This & correctly fitted connectors avoid the risk of RF noise from Freeview, Digital Radio & 4/5G mobile phones interfering with Virgins services. Any DIY alterations you make therefore could cause interference to the entire street if it tracks back to the cabinet. Something for which you would be held liable.
Changes in cable length will also affect your signal levels & could result in pixelation or even loss of TV & Broadband. This requires access to the cabinet to adjust.
VM charges a set fee of £25 to do all of this for you.
