Movies Pixelated on Youtube

Hello

I purchase movies on GooglePlay to play through the youtube app on My Virgin TiVo box. However they are all now heavily pixelated and unwatchable. The work fine online on the youtube app it’s only on the TiVo box they are pixelated. Normal videos are fine, it’s just my purchased movies, but still I payed for them to watch them! Please help

Hello Gorillazotaku,

I am very sorry to hear you have had this issue, have you rebooted the TiVo at all?

Thanks Joe_F

Re: Movies Pixelated on Youtube

Unfortunately paid content should not be available with the app on our device, we are sorry.

Thanks Joe_F

Re: Movies Pixelated on Youtube

This is ridiculous. I have watched the hobbit before on the app, so has there been a change? Why on earth would virgin prevent you from watching paid content on youtube?

Re: Movies Pixelated on Youtube

Hi Jdoogiek,

Unfortunately this isn't something we support. Hopefully we will in the future. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks

Re: Movies Pixelated on Youtube

I arrived here as I am having the same issue, having just purchased a YouTube video.

I was very surprised to hear that Virgin Media does not support the playback of purchased YouTube videos, especially when it's a relatively simple process to cast my YouTube videos from my phone or tablet.  It seems that Virgin Media is simply directing its customers to another service, something that I can see as only having a negative business impact.

Are you able to say whether this situation is caused by technical or licensing issues?

Re: Movies Pixelated on Youtube

Hi CptJTKirk,

Do you have more than one purchased Youtube video and if so are all of them the same with the pixelation?

Have you tried playing the videos on a different Virgin Media TV box to see if it's the same?

Thanks,

Lisa
