Iplayer not working?

is anyone else having bbc iplayer problems?

 

we click on the iplayer icon and it loops round back to the iplayer logo again 

 

done the usual resetting the box etc still no joy

Do you definitely have a TiVo and not a V6? If you're not sure, check here 

Assuming a TiVo... on the front-left of your box there's 3 green lights, second from left has a painted heart symbol next to it and indicates your online/internet connection - which is required for anything online (iPlayer included). Is the light solidly on?

other on demand such as itv work it’s just iplayer

Please don't create duplicate posts, it only causes more confusion... I've merged your posts 🙂

Ok, the V6 relies on your homehub for onward connection to the internet. Can you use other VOD services - try a CatchUp programme on ITV, C4 or C5, does this work ok? (Proves your internet connection).

If no... there's your problem, and the next question is to ask how your V6 is connected to your homehub, is it Ethernet or WiFi?

If yes... then it's potentially an app problem. Either retry or you might end up restarting your box via Home > Help & Settings > Clear or Restart my box

Sorry but new here didn’t know what to do about moving post

other On Demand works ok itv, you tube etc

Been working fine for considerable time no problems until this weekend

its connected via cable 

I switched box off at mains yesterday but didn’t fix it

In that case, let's just try accessing the iPlayer app a variety of ways and see if any makes any difference.

Home > CatchUp > Channels > BBC iPlayer

Home > All apps > BBC iPlayer (probably the same as above)

Find a programme in the EPG (Tv guide) from the last couple of days on a BBC channel, click "ok" and "watch from catchup"

None of them work. And just realised that no on demand working or You tube and Amazon prime

but  Netflix.  ok

After pulling cables and plugging everything back in and restarting box we now have bbc iplayer ok

 

youtube now working

 

itv hub not working and Amazon prime lets us play trailers but not programmes and just says “unable to play”

If multiple online apps fail, the issue would ordinarily point at the internet connection failing - which you've proven ok.

If one particular app fails, you'd normally blame the app itself and try restarting your box.

Are you watching on a 4K UHD TV?
