Intermittent loss of sound

Preciousuk
Tuning in

Hi, can anyone help. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed that when I’m watching TV the sound drops for a second or two. It’s really random, sometimes I watch a program and it’s fine and sometimes it’s every couple of minutes. I have experienced it on BBC 1 and 4. It was particularly bad while watching Star Wars. I don’t think it’s my equipment but is somehow related stream capacity/through put/bandwidth.

Hi Rachel,

Please try the following to see if it makes any difference.

Go to Settings > Audio & Video > Audio Output and set it to Follow Content.

Thanks for the advice but I don’t have those options on my TiVo box. I went to audio but there isn’t anything like that.

Hi again Rachel

I've moved yuor post to the Tivo Forum

You posted in the TV360 forum so I gave you the suggestions for the 360 box. It is based on the Horizon firmware and not TIVO.

I switched from from a V6 which also ran on the Tivo platform, and seem to recall you could go into Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Audio > Dolby digital  then Choose Dolby Digital to PCM

Thank you. I’ve made the change so I’ll see if that fixes the problem.

It’s early days and I haven’t had any sound loss so far. I have got another problem though - watching GBBO and I’ve had the picture stutter 4 times.

could this be related to the original problem?

I've been experiencing the exact same thing again during GBBO this evening.

I believe the issue started following the channel change although it could just be coincidental, but watching 4HD now at any time of day and it is plagued with irregular sound and picture skips/stutters. Other channels aren't affected (not that I've checked EVERY one!)

I’m glad it’s not just me. I’ve been quite frustrated by all this but I was really pleased by the support from the community. I was dreading calling the customer support about it.

Hey Preciousuk, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry you are having some issues with sound.

Is this just with Channel 4 and channels they own, such as E4?

Are all the cables secure and not broken / cracked? Thanks
