Re: Have older style tivo box that is not working

What are you trying to do by linking the TiVo to the router?

The TiVo has it's own internet connection inbuilt, the router connection is only required to connect to other TiVo or V6 boxes in your home. So I'm not sure what you mean by "nothing coming on screen"?

Re: Have older style tivo box that is not working

Hi,

I have a tv in spare room that I have sometimes used that is connected to an older TiVo box but for some reason nothing comes on screen via start or hdmi cable to the tv now.

my other setup with a newer box in the lounge works just fine.
The tv works for DVDs but I get nothing when I tried reset on the menu on the tv just ‘not supported’  on screen now. It was working fine a couple of weeks ago. Would it be the tv or the box that is faulty?

can’t get on to virgin to get  an engineer.... looooong  telephone delays.

Re: Have older style tivo box that is not working

Hi,

I have not said anything about connecting to the router, just to the tv either through the scary or HDMI.

In order to get a picture from tv screen it comes into the house through the cable right.

so why it it not working ?

"I have not said anything about connecting to the router"
you did you said
"with an older box that is refusing to connect to my hub"
the hub is the router.

Re: Have older style tivo box that is not working

What lights are showing at the front of the box?

Any unusual sounds coming from the box?

Re: Have older style tivo box that is not working

Thanks for bothering to help but why is there no direct virgin media personnel looking to assist in sending an engineer? Do they not look on here?

Re: Have older style tivo box that is not working

Do you have a multi-room subscription? If you don't then possibly Virgin have deactivated the old box, don't know if it would still show the basic Freeview channels if it had been deactivated
