I've got the dreaded green screen again and this time it's not fixing itself. I have scheduled an appointment via the website for a couple of days time, is it likely that the engineer will have a new box to install straight away or should I try and call to ask them to?

The green "DVR has detected an error" does mean your hard drive has failed, you were lucky it recovered once but I'm not surprised it's failed agan.

Home visit techs carry on-board stock of replacement equipment.
