Programmes stated on the 'E' channel do not correspond with programs shown. I like E entertainment's Nightly Pop and Daily Pop, and record these. But neither of these shows are showing even though the TV guide shows them as on. Why??

This can occasionally happen if the schedule that the broadcaster is running to, is not what VM have loaded onto their EPG.
Often, an email to tivoguideerrors@virginmedia.co.uk will get this rectified in a day or so.
