I'm also not sure you'll find much choice in cheaper pay TV packages - most are well over what you're paying now, and at the cheaper end you'd need to provide your own broadband connection and wifi.  Sky used to offer non-broadband TV, but have announced they're backing out of the satellite TV market - you might get that still, but you'd need to speak to Sky, and all the most attractive deals will probably be broadband based.

I agree with nodgrod, that if you don't have and don't want broadband, then you'll need to consider Freeview.   If you have a Freeview compatible TV and an aerial, then it'll cost you nothing.  If you've been with VM for years, possibly you don't have a digital-compatible TV aerial, or a suitable TV or PVR.  If that's the case then there may be some costs to get things setup, at the cheaper end the resultant setup may not be as easy to use as the VM or Sky TV systems and in that situation your lowest cost option might be to stick with the £36 a month.

You won’t find any TV only deals.

The standalone TV service is being withdrawn & customers are being offered V6 boxes, for which having Virgin Broadband is MANDATORY. More & more of the service is now delivered via an IP service, & the V6 won’t work without a Virgin Broadband connection.

Looks like you will either have to find a new pay provider or go back to free services like Freeview or Freesat.

VM BB TV Landline. Vonage 2nd line. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Customer since 1993

Hi JX54,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting.

I am sorry to hear you wish to downgrade as the package price is not suitable.

Although TV only bundles are not available to be added, our team would be happy to look in to what deals are available and what we can do for you as an existing customer.

If you speak to the team on 0345 454 1111 or 150 from a Virgin Media landline, they will be able to help further.

Thanks,

Nat

One thing to keep in mind with Freeview is that what channels you can get will vary. It seems like if your nearest transmitter is a relay one, you might get less channels than if it's one of the main transmitters. You can go on the Freeview website and check what channels you can get on Freeview
