Connecting a STB to a TV

Just had a thought.  Why do some VM engineers connect the virgin box  to a TV using an HDMI cable while others use the coax connector?

Re: Connecting a STB to a TV

you can not connect the VM coax to a TV.
It has to be connected to the Tivo box and then the box is connected to the TV by HDMI.
there is no way to use the VM tv without the STB

Re: Connecting a STB to a TV

Not so. My daughter's TiVo connects via a coax cable with an aerial adapter, into the TV antenna socket. No HDMI.

Re: Connecting a STB to a TV

Hello

What type of adapter is it, as looking at a Tivo it doesn't have a coaxial output, can you post a picture of the adapter, the Tivo only has Scart and HDMI outputs ?

Re: Connecting a STB to a TV

you can't get VM services over the cax directly into a TV.
You MUST have a STB
