Yeah, I appreciate this "DIY fix" was well-intentioned, but connecting third party cables to Virgin Media equipment can often have the effect of injecting RF noise into the network and causing local faults for other customers.
You need to call Virgin TV Faults on 150, to report this and get a replacement sent out.
