The apps open just fine and you can browse what Netflix and amazon have on offer to your hearts content. But, as soon as you try to actually, you know play and watch the content, either the box crashes, simply doesn’t play or the screen goes blank.

Sorry to see you've been experiencing issues with your set top box when trying to use Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Is this still on going or has this since been resolved? If still on going, when did this start?
I have been able to look at outages that some customers in your area, but Amazon Prime is not mentioned - see below.
Do you have an issue with YouTube? Do you get any error messages?
This is for V6 boxes only - Customers may be unable to play some titles in Netflix,on their V6 box, experiencing various scenarios eg an error code displayed or a message advising 'This programme is not currently available, try again later'
V6 Boxes ONLY - After watching a video in Youtube or Netflix then navigating through menus the box locks up and reboots
We've used both Amazon and Netflix this week without problems (and very rarely have problems with either app), so it looks like it could be a problem with your box/account rather than the whole service.
