optical sound

i have a v6 in bedroom which is connected to tv via hdmi, can i plug a bluetooth headphone sender into the optical on the box will i get sound thru headphone and tv simultainiously

Yes that should work. However you may end up with a bit of audio delay between the two sound outputs. So you'll need to decide if that's something you can live with.

The delay could mean you hear the TV before the audio in the headphones and it could be big enough to be noticeably off for lip sync.

Optical itself can introduce a sync delay and then older Bluetooth versions aren't great for it either. Depends how good the Bluetooth adapter and headphones are.

You can try connecting to the TV's optical out. This may well mute the TV's speakers - which you probably want anyway.
