cable to tv too long

Hi having moved my tv i now have about 10 metres of surplus cable, can i cut it and fit a new coaxial connector myself or is this not advised, i could coil it up and hide in a cupboard ok but will this surplus cable effect the tv performance, someone also told me it was a different coaxial connector.

cheers peeps

Re: cable to tv too long

Removing 10m of surplus coax might disturb your connection and require a Tech visit to rebalance the power levels. If it aint broke dont try and fix it - hide it in a cupboard until such time as you get a Tech visit for some other issue and then get them to shorten it and rebalance the levels.

Re: cable to tv too long

Cheers, i shall take your advice and loop the cable for now, the only thing i was worried about  having a very long cable, was it might affect the quality, although it seems to be ok
