VPN access

I am trying to access a work VPN via super hub 3 and have read of issues on here. Virgin tech team have as predicted said they offer no support. What workarounds actually work for people who can do basics like me eg have already logged onto virgin router and enable tcp/ip

thanks for any simple to follow words of wisdom as otherwise need to change provider

thanks

Re: VPN access

You might have to use your own router if the hub3 isn't suitable for your vpn

Re: VPN access

Thanks, Do you mean to put superhub into modem only mode and connect to another router?I tried that but although super hub had magenta light I did not seem to have any internet out of it to my mesh system via Ethernet connection but maybe I need a an additional router between super hub and mesh?

Re: VPN access

that incorporates a router, so no need for anything additional.. you just need to get it set up right.. there's a specific sequence to get modem mode up and running..

Log into the hub on http://192.168.0.1 and select the option to put the hub into modem mode
The hub will then reboot and come back up in modem mode - give it five minutes to settle down
Disconnect all ethernet cables from the hub
Power off the Hub and your router/mesh system
Connect your router/mesh system to the hub via ethernet cable and switch it on - leave it five minutes to settle down
Power on the hub and leave it five minutes to settle down

Should all be working.

Re: VPN access

As a follow up, the set up of my mesh having moved superb 3 into modem only mode is fine - internet work in house and in garden office (we have ethernet cable from mesh to office and then a separate router in office so we can have wired and wireless there - it is Tenda router). Unfortunately windows VPN still not connecting. I cannot work out if this can still be virgin issue (the VPN connection is to a company in Asia) or if it is more of a local issue.

thanks for any additional thoughts welcomed

Re: VPN access

hard to know for sure.. can you traceroute to the address you're trying to connect to? have you tried any other VPN connections? if so, do they work?
