Replacement cable

Hi all,

We're rearranging our living room and I need to get a longer coax cable, is this something I can get from virgin or do I need to order up one from another source?

Thanks

Alex

Re: Replacement cable

Hello

You cannot modify any cabling yourself has to be done by Virginmedia and will be classed as a non fault call out at £99.

Re: Replacement cable

Thanks for the quick reply.

Are you sure about that?  I need to get an engineer to come out to replace the cable the coax cable that runs from the wall to the box?  That seems like a bit of a scam.

Re: Replacement cable

Using non-VM supplied cable has the potential of introducing noise into the network that would not only affect your connection, but all customers on the same street cabinet.

It isn't just replacing the cable that needs to be considered. The power levels may require adjusting due to the cable length change.

If you don't want to pay £99 may I suggest you run an ethernet cable from the HUB to where your other equipment is currently situated.
